Est. 1966
“Walking through To Kalon, admiring its contours and vines, smelling the richness of its soil, I knew this was a very special place. It exuded an indefinable quality I could not describe, a feeling that was almost mystical.”
– Robert Mondavi

Visionary Legacy:
Robert Mondavi established the winery in 1966 with the goal of creating world class wines from Napa Valley that could compete on a global stage. His innovative practices and relentless pursuit of quality set the foundation for Napa Valley’s reputation today as one of the pre-eminent fine wine regions in the world.

Pioneering Contributions:
Robert Mondavi influenced the American wine industry by promoting varietal labeling, introducing small French oak barrels and helping establish the Napa Appellation System. He also popularized the Fumé Blanc which changed the perception of Sauvignon Blanc and continues today through our Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc and Reserve Fumé Blanc.
